Some choices in life are difficult.
Not because you don't know what you want, but because your heart is being pulled in so many directions at once.
As most of you know, I have been a caregiver for my mother for seven years.
She is seriously ill, has dementia, and a weak heart. She now lives in a nursing home where she receives the care she needs, but I am still involved every single day. I manage things, I offer her emotional support, and I try to make her life as pleasant as possible.
That is also the reason why we once decided to move back to the Netherlands.
And honestly... the past few years have been intense. Loving, but also full of worries.
And then there was that ticket. Tony Robbins – Unleash the Power Within.
A dream I had had for fifteen years.
Last year I decided: this time I am going. I bought a ticket, put it in big letters in my calendar, and looked forward to it for a year.
But as the moment drew closer, it became harder. My mother was going through another bad period. I doubted: can I leave? Am I allowed to do this for myself?
And yet, I chose to go.
Together with my husband. Because I felt this was important. For myself. For us together.
And ultimately also for everything I do with La Luz. 🌸
Four days. 13,000 people. One energy. 🔥
And there we stood. In Cologne, together with 13,000 others.
From the first moment, you could feel the energy vibrating in the air. The music. The light.
The dancing. The jumping. The shouting.
The laughing. Everything revolved around energy. How to generate it, how to maintain it, and how to use it to get more out of life.
Every day started with movement. Because that is what Tony teaches you: if you change your body, your energy changes, and with it, your entire state of being.
We learned a lot about mindset, nutrition, emotions, and beliefs. But above all: about the stories we tell ourselves.
The limiting thoughts that keep us small. We dealt with those.
Sometimes literally by making them ridiculous.
Together with thousands of people, we laughed at the thoughts that had held us back for years... and suddenly you felt: this no longer serves me.
Be a creator, not a maintainer ✨
One of the things that touched me the most is Tony’s message:
“Be a creator, not a maintainer.”
Stop maintaining what is, and start creating what you want. Don’t wait. Make a move. Take the first step.
That really hit home. Because honestly? I have often kept myself small. With La Luz. With my dreams. With what I actually really want. It always had to be perfect. I hesitated for too long. I held onto ideas without executing them.
But in that room, surrounded by thousands of people, I felt it: it is time to choose, to do, to create.
What this has changed for me 🌟
I returned from Cologne with a head and heart full of ideas. For La Luz Lifestyle. For La Luz Kids. For new collaborations. For products I have dreamed about for so long.
But there is one big difference: I no longer get stuck in “maybe this should be better” or “I’m not ready yet.”
F*ck it. I’m just doing it.
There is so much beauty coming. Plans I was already working on, I am finally going to flesh out. Collaborations that were on hold, I am going to embrace. And the insecurity? I left that behind in Cologne.
And now... just letting it land 🌿
Four days of Tony Robbins... I still need to let it sink in. It was so much. Intense. Healing. Life-changing. I notice that even now, weeks later, insights are still coming through.
Friends ask me: “What was so special about it? What did you learn?”
And honestly? I don't always have an answer to that yet. It is too much to capture in one sentence. But what I do know is this:
You can change your energy at any moment of the day.
And if you change your energy, you change everything.
