The first rays of sunshine are back.
The days are getting longer.
People are heading outside again, terraces are full, and everywhere it feels like everything is starting over.
After Easter…
as if we collectively long for light, for warmth, for new energy.
And somewhere… I feel that too.
But at the same time, I think:
how is it possible that the world just keeps going…
while my world stood still for a moment six months ago?
Six months.
When I say it like that, it sounds like a long time.
But in my head… it feels like yesterday.
A little over half a year ago I lost my mother, nearly 8 years ago my father.
People ask kindly:
“How are you doing now?”
“Have you been able to find closure yet?”
And I understand those questions. I really do.
They come from love.
But sometimes…
they also sting a little.
Because what does “finding closure” even mean?
When are you “over it”?
Grief is not a checklist.
It’s not a phase you just go through and then continue with life as if nothing happened.
Sometimes I feel strong.
Sometimes I feel gratitude.
And sometimes… it suddenly hits me at a random moment.
In the sun.
In a song.
In a memory.
And perhaps that is also what this period is teaching me.
That light and dark are allowed to exist side by side.
That you can enjoy the first rays of sun…
while missing someone at the same time.
That positivity doesn’t mean that everything always feels good.
But that, despite everything, you continue to choose little pieces of light.
For me, that is sometimes in something small.
A moment for myself.
A thought that helps me stand tall again.
A reminder that I am allowed to move forward.
That is also exactly why I once started La Luz.
Because we all, in our own way,
sometimes need a little light.
Not a grand gesture.
But a small nudge.
A reminder.
✨ You got this
✨ She believed she could, so she did
✨ Just F*cking do it!
Not because everything is easy.
But precisely because it isn’t always.
Perhaps this is your reminder today:
You don't have to have it all "figured out."
You don't always have to be strong.
And you don't have to do it alone.
But you are allowed to…
step by step…
move back towards the light a little.
In the first few weeks, I received many meaningful gifts from people close to me, but also from strangers, and that touched me deeply.
💛 And perhaps that is also my question to you:
When was the last time you gave
a meaningful gift…
to yourself,
or to someone who needed it for a moment?
For everyone who has to miss someone, a big hug from me.
