BLOG 4 | How are you really doing?
From pleasing and experiencing disappointment, to setting boundaries and finding balance.
In my previous blog, I announced the closing of my pedicure practice. Full of confidence and dedication, I am now working full-time on my La Luz mission: spreading love and light through the sale of affirmation bracelets. And doesn't that feel wonderful! Everything in me says I made the right choice. What I haven't told you yet is how intense this change has been.
By closing my practice, I had to disappoint people. This touched me deeply. As a former 'pleaser', choosing ME still feels uncomfortable. And so, I ran into myself once again. Time for a little investigation: why does this choice feel so heavy?
Investigation I have learned that ignoring physical symptoms is not a wise choice. And so, I took immediate action when I lay awake with heart palpitations, could no longer find peace, and my body ached everywhere. I’ve since gotten to know my GP, and all necessary hospital examinations have been carried out. I had to look further to clear up my complaints. Two years ago, I would have laughed and walked away from alternative medicine. Now, however, I didn't have many other options. And when I allowed that thought in, a healer from Suriname spontaneously crossed my path who wanted to treat me from a distance.
I am allowed to choose for myself The healer helped me to rediscover my energy, strengthen it, and bring it back into balance. I learned that it is okay to choose for myself and set boundaries. It is not my responsibility to always meet the expectations of others. Sometimes you have to put yourself first to be truly happy. You can still help others afterwards, but only from an intrinsic motivation and in a healthy way. Little by little, I distanced myself from my practice and gained more focus on personal growth. Was it easy? No, certainly not. But it did give me the space to reflect and grow. My affirmation bracelets help me tremendously with this. Every day, I choose a text that supports me best and gives me strength at that moment.
With renewed energy for the La Luz mission
It is the best choice I have made in a long time. Energy is always there, and it is truly amazing how healing, with an ocean between us, has worked for me. It was an intense process and I am grateful for the growth I have gone through. The adventure of self-discovery and personal growth is not over yet. I continue to learn while working hard on my La Luz mission: spreading love and light through the sale of affirmation bracelets. From now on, with renewed energy and a stronger sense of self-worth!
